In partnership with the Hispanic Cultural Club, the visual art students are participating in various activities and creating a wide range of art to honor National Hispanic Heritage Month. On October 11 Kirby Middle School had the Second Annual Hispanic Heritage Festival and Program to promote awareness of various Hispanic customs, arts and activities..


We are currently working on an altar that will be displayed at the Brooks Museum of Art in commemoration
and celebration
of Dia de los Muertos....

6th and 7th Grade:

Exploring the color wheel in multiple mediums...

Coffee filters colored with ONLY red, blue and yellow markers, brushed with water to create and observe primary colors blending together into secondary colors.
Students used pastels on black construction paper and crayons/color pencils on white paper to show color wheels with shade and tint differences.
